I've always liked all things colorful and sparkling. Since I was a little girl, I have loved painting my nails. Polished nails always gave me a fun pop of color and glitter at my fingertips. As an adult, I see polished nails as the perfect accessory to any look and the best way to accentuate an incredible ring or bracelet. I love looking at my hands and smiling, whether I've done a glittery rainbow manicure or gone with a sophisticated and classy red creme. Polished nails are like tiny works of art that are inexpensive, dynamic, and personalized.
So we start at the beginning. Here is a picture of my naked nails. They're decent.
This length is pretty long for me, but for a magical time, all my nails have been the same length on both hands, so I'm trying to keep them going until the fates break one. They're kind of stained from the constant polish, but they're not too bad right now.
I haven't done a thorough manicure in about a week (I don't really care for that part of the polishing experience), but my cuticles are still looking good. I'm currently using Burt's Bees Lemon Cuticle Cream at night and lotion (Curel and various others that smell good). I could be doing more. The cold weather plus air from the heater are drying me out totally. My skin is flaking. Hang nails are forming. It's not pretty.
So that's the current assessment of my nail situation. Now that that's out of the way, polished nails are sure to come!
